What data we store

Commitment Timer stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API:

• Your list of blocked websites
• Your session intentions and time logs
• Your honesty score and streak statistics
• Your extension settings and preferences

What we do NOT do

• We do NOT collect any personal information
• We do NOT send any data to external servers
• We do NOT use analytics or tracking tools
• We do NOT sell or share your data with anyone
• We do NOT have access to your browsing history

Permissions explained

webNavigation — Detects when you visit a blocked site so we can show the commitment screen.

storage — Saves your settings, sessions, and stats locally on your device.

alarms — Powers the countdown timer reliably in the background.

scripting — Injects the commitment overlay and timer widget into blocked pages.

tabs — Reads the current tab URL to check if it's a blocked site.

notifications — Shows desktop alerts when your timer is about to expire and when time is up.

Third-party services

Commitment Timer does not use any third-party services, APIs, or analytics platforms in its default configuration.

Data deletion

You can delete all stored data at any time by uninstalling the extension. All locally stored data is permanently removed on uninstall.

Children's privacy

Commitment Timer does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
